Salad Recipes

 Our Family's Favorite Salad Recipe
(serves two)

3/4 large head romaine lettuce (or one whole small one)
3 tbsp. natural apple cider vinegar
3 tbsp. Udo's cold-pressed oil (or good olive oil)
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Braggs All Purpose Seasoning,
or sea salt to taste
1/4 cup. flaked yeast
1/2 tsp. dulse powder (optional)
1/4 tsp. Vegit
or salt-free seasoning (optional)
2 tsp. fruit sugar

Just throw all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix.  This is our family's very favorite salad recipe.  We can eat this daily without ever tiring of the salad.  

The dulse powder is an acquired taste which is why it is optional, but we personally really love it added to the salad.  Also, you can freely add raw mixed vegetables of your choice.  We prefer just plain romaine lettuce.


Quick and Crunchy Salad
(serves one)

1/2 seedless cucumber, finely diced (or 3 dill cucumbers)
1 ripe & juicy red tomato, diced
1 tsp.Spanish onion, finely chopped
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. fruit sugar
Braggs All Purpose Seasoning,
or sea salt to taste (optional)
1 tbsp. good health mayonnaise

Mix the ingredients together, and enjoy.  


Broccoli and Cauliflower Salad
(serves two)

 1 cup raw cauliflower, very finely chopped
1 cup raw broccoli heads, very finely chopped
2 celery stalks, very finely chopped
2 tsp. Spanish onion, finely chopped
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. Vegit or salt-free seasoning (optional)
Braggs All Purpose Seasoning, or sea salt to taste
1 tsp. fruit sugar
1 tbsp. good health mayonnaise

Mix the ingredients together, and enjoy.  


Colorful Coleslaw

2 cups red cabbage, shredded
2 cups white cabbage, shredded
3 carrots, grated
1 apple, diced
1/4 cup raisins (optional)
1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
1 tbsp. lime juice
3 tbsp. olive oil (or Udo's oil)
1/2 tsp. dill
1 tsp. horseradish from the jar
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
1 tbsp. fruit sugar
boiling water
Braggs All Purpose Seasoning,
or sea salt to taste

Add the shredded cabbage and raisins in a stainless steel or glass bowl, and pour enough boiling water to cover.  Let sit for 5 minutes.  Strain the water from the cabbage.

Add the remaining ingredients to the strained cabbage, and let sit for two hours or more in the refrigerator.

Why do people experience incredible weight loss on a juice fast?

Before that question can be answered, we have to understand what ‘juice fasting’ is about.

Juice fasting is about abstaining from solid food, for a period of time, while supplying your body with the most nutritious drinks on this planet. By providing essential vitamins and minerals, the juice can actually jump-start the body’s fat-burning mechanisms. One glass of freshly-made fruit or vegetable juice provides you with the equivalent vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids and chlorophyll you would get by eating several pounds of raw fruits and vegetables.

Most of us have heard how thousands are losing up to 10 pounds in 2 days on the best-selling Hollywood 48-Hour Miracle Diet in which you simply juice fast on bottled (dead) juice for 2 days. Well, juice fasting is a healthier version of the Hollywood Diet because you can fast longer than 2 days while supplying your body with live enzymes and nutrient-rich fresh fruit and vegetable juices.
